Calicut University invited applications for admission to the Master of Computer Applications (MCA) course 2014-15. Admission to the MCA course will be on the basis of an Entrance Examination. Applications are to be submitted online from 11/06/2014 to 28/06/2014, 5 P.M through Calicut University website www.universityofcalicut.info. Candidate should have any bachelor’s degree under 10+2+3 pattern of education with Computer science/ Computer application/ Mathematics/Statistics/Engineering and Technology as one of the main or subsidiary subject with at least 50% or equivalent CGPA aggregate. A relaxation of 5% mark shall be given to SCBC and PH candidates. SC/ST candidates need to get only a pass in their qualifying examination.
After submitting online applications, signed print out of application bearing Passport size Photograph attested by the Gazetted Officer along with the original chalan receipt for having remitted the fee of Rs.300/- (Rs.100/- for SC/ST candidates) to Calicut University Funds at Calicut University Fee Counter/Calicut University Janasevanakendra/Akshaya Centres/through SBT e-payment/online Banking (SBT). Attested copies of certificates as proof of qualifications, age and community should be forwarded to the Chief Co Ordinator, CCSIT Centre, Calicut University Campus, University of Calicut, P.O Calicut University-673635. So as to reach on or before 5 P.M on 30.06.2014.
The online Registration I.D Number should be written by the candidate on reverse side of the chalan receipt/DD as the case may be. This I.D Number should also be mentioned by the candidate in all future communications.
Those who are awaiting the results of the qualifying examination can also apply. They have to submit the copies of Marklist to Chief Co Ordinator, CCSIT Centre, Calicut University Campus, University of Calicut, P.O within 6 days of the publication of Calicut University/Government Examination Results in order to finalise the Rank list within the stipulated time.
The examination will be of 2 hours duration and will have 100 objective type questions of 1 mark each from the disciplines as noted below.
- Computer Science - 30%
- Mathematics - 30%
- Statistics - 10%
- Physics - 10%
- Chemistry - 10%
- Reasoning - 10%
- Date and time of Entrance Examinations: 3rd August 2014 (Sunday).
- Date of publication of Rank List: 12th August 2014 (Tuesday).
- Dates of Counselling: 19th and 20th August 2014 (Tuesday and Wednesday).
- Commencement of 1st Semester Classes: 1st September 2014 (Monday).
- Centres of Examination: Kozhikode and Thrissur.
