Details of IBPS Specialist Officers Recruitment 2012


Details of IBPS 2012 common exam for Specialist Officers. The IBPS (Institute of banking personnel selection) has announced the common examination 2012 for recruitment for specialist officers posts. Candidates passing this exam can apply for specialist officer jobs in any of the 19 public sector banks, after satisfying the qualifications mentioned by individual bank.

The IBPS Specialist Officer (SO) Exam 2012 is an all India exam for the following Scale-I and Scale-II posts:

Scale I Posts:

• Agricultural field officer

• Rajbhasha adhikari

• IT officer

• Law officer

• Technical officer

• HR/Personnel officer

• Marketing officer

Scale II Posts:

• IT officer

• Law officer

Eligibility criteria & Qualification required:

For all Scale I posts, as on Dec 1, 2011

The age must be between 20 & 35 years

I.T.Officer: Graduate or Post Graduate degree in IT/Comp. science/ Comp.applications/ Electronics/ ECE/E & I/ E & T OR any degree with DOEACC level 'B' certification.

Agriculture field officer:A degree in agriculture or agricultural sciences related subjects.

Technical officer: BE in Electrical/ IT/CSE/ Textile/ Mechanical/ Chemical/ Production/ or B.Pharm

H.R/Personnel officer: Graduate or Post Graduate degree or diploma in HRD/social work OR Degree in business admin. or management with HR

Marketing officer: PGDBA/ PGDBM/ MBA(marketing) or degree with marketing specialization

Scale I officers posts do not require any work experience.

For all Scale II posts, as on Dec 1, 2011

The age must be between 21 & 40 years

I.T.Officer: Graduate or Post Graduate degree in IT/Computer science/ Computer applications/ Electronics/ ECE/E & I/ E & T OR any degree with DOEACC level 'B' certificate with 1 year experience.

Law officer: A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB) with 3 years experience.

You can only apply for any one post.

• Online Registration Start Date - 30.12.2011

• Application Fees Payment - 29.12.2011 to 20.01.2012

• Online Registration Last date - 21.01.2012

• Editing Application Details Last date - 23.01.2012

• Downloading Call letter for Written Examination - After 28.02.2012

• Written Examination - 11.03.2012

Application Fees

The fees can be paid either in the online or offline mode.

The fees is:

• Rs. 50/- for SC/ST/PWD candidates.

• Rs.450/- for all others.

The fees can be paid between 29.12.2011 to 20.01.2012

In the Online mode, fees can be paid through netbanking, credit/ debit cards. This facility is available on the IBPS website.

In the Offline mode, fees can be paid through CBS branches of any of the following 6 Public Sector banks:

• Bank of Baroda

• Bank of India

• Central Bank of India

• Indian Overseas Bank

• Punjab National Bank

• United Bank of India

Pattern & Syllabus of IBPS Exam 2012

The Question Paper Pattern for IBPS Specialist officer recruitment written exam 2012 is as follows:

• The question papers will be in 2 languages-English and Hindi(except the 'Test of English Language' section).

• The paper has 4 sections with total 200 questions with a total of 200 marks.

• Negative marking for wrong answers is also applicable, that is, 0.25 (or one-fourth) marks will be cut for every answer. It means you lose 1 mark for every 4 wrong answers.

The syllabus for Law Officer Scale-I and Scale-II & Rajbhasa adhikari Scale-I posts consists of the following 4 sections:

1. Test of Reasoning-50 marks (50 questions)
2. Test of English Language-25 marks (50 questions)
3. Test of general awareness with special reference to banking industry-50 marks (50 questions)
4. Test of Professional Knowledge-75 marks (50 questions)

The syllabus for the remaining posts also has the following 4 sections:

1. Test of Reasoning-50 marks (50 questions)
2. Test of English Knowledge-25 marks (50 questions)
3. Test of Quantitative Aptitude-50 marks (50 questions)
4. Test of Professional knowledge-75 marks (50 questions)

IBPS Scorecards:

Similar to the IBPS CWE for Bank PO & Clerks, candidates who obtain minimum cutoff score in each section will receive a scorecard by IBPS which is valid for 1 year.

It is compulsory to possess scorecards to apply for specialist officer jobs in the 19 public sector banks.

Depending on the eligibility conditions & total score obtained, individual banks will shortlist candidates having IBPS scorecards depending on the vacancies available.
